New Zealand is currently in lock down and nobody can go anywhere except to hospitals and supermarkets. This is the first time New Zealand has gone into full lock down and they have also never closed there boarders. Covid 19 is an unexpected thing that has happened but the one good thing that is that is helping the environment and it is letting the earth have a break from all the pollution and all the cars driving around and all the fossil fuels being used and dug up. In the worlds history something like this has never happened and it is bad but we will figure out a way to solve this big problem and save the world. We will get thorough this together and strongly and we will save lives.
During lock down I have been doing school at home and my new teacher is really bossy. I have been going to the beach for a work and playing games at home. I am sporty so I like playing outside and playing in pools. I have spent the mornings doing some school work and then spent the afternoons outside playing games.
Stay safe and be KIND.

This is fantastic Indie! You are right, we are going through something that will be remembered in history as the time the world went into Lockdown. I feel like you are right in that the environment will be enjoying this recovery time as we are all isolated. I feel like humans have been told to go to their rooms (by Mother Nature) and think about what we have done.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to reading more of your blog posts. I'm sure your new teacher isn't THAT bossy haha. Keep up the great work! Miss D
Great to see you are managing to achieve a good balance of school work and activity during this time away from school Indie! It's very important to keep ourselves healthy whilst we are unable to participate in our usual activities. I like that you are looking for the positive side of this situation, it will be very interesting to see how everyone having to stay at home will impact the earth - do you know of any changes that might already be being noticed?
ReplyDeleteYour encouragement to 'stay safe and be kind' is an awesome one - please remember to apply this to your new teacher, who I'm sure is looking after you very well!
I'll look forward to seeing your future posts.
I've just had a thought, you might like to read about the village of Eyam in Derbyshire, England. In the 1660s, this village put themselves into 'lockdown' - it would interesting to see why and how they managed it. When I taught in English schools, we used to study this....maybe in years to come, people will be studying us and how we coped in our lockdown!
ReplyDeleteYou have summed up the situation very well Indie. The world wide lock down has been a wake up call for everyone around the world. In a short time we have seen some very positive changes to our world's environment. Hopefully everyone will learn from this and make the permanent and positive changes necessary to improve the environment. It 's great to read that you are balancing your online work with physical activity and please be kind and listen to your new teacher.
ReplyDeleteHi Indie, what a fabulous blog post with some very relevant points about positive outcomes of lockdown. I am enjoying time with my husband and we are going for lots of walks, sitting chatting and doing jobs round home. We have six grandchildren and most days I Zoom call them and read them stories. They really enjoy it. It's a great way of connecting. Are you meeting with your teacher and class on Google Chat? I would think that it is good fun and a fabulous way to catch up with friends.
ReplyDeleteI laughed when you said your new teacher is bossy because my grandchildren say that their lockdown teacher is bossy too :-).
Be kind to your teacher and enjoy your distance learning.
Keep safe and we will see you when we all go back to school.

I really like your blog post because it is the first time we have been in full lock-down. Still in level 3 we can't go anywhere except for shops and doctors. We can go to a related friends because if you're related to someone there in New Zealand you can go over. Witch the same thing and I did.
